Unless you've been living under a rock somewhere, or just returned from a Backcountry Ski or Snowboard trip, you've already heard that ski slopes have been closed just about everywhere in an attempt to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.
While people initially talked about a temporary closure of 1 to 2 weeks, we hear in various places that the winter season is now really over. For example, no more ski areas will be opened in France and Austria this season, according to the union of ski lift operators.
There is a water chance that areas that typically stay open the longest until May -think Norway, Lapland & Glaciers in the Alps– open it again. But that is of course speculation, and then you better look forward to the start of the ski season in, for example, New Zealand which is planned for June 6.
End of Season maintenance
At Wax & Board we will of course continue to work all year round for all snow enthusiasts! If skiing or snowboarding is unfortunately already over for you, you would do well to get your skis and snowboard end of seasonal maintenance to give.
This way your material cannot dry out during those long dry summer months that are now approaching.
During this maintenance we put your steel edges back in order and we melt a soft wax; so that you are safe until the next snowflakes fall. You can then simply make an appointment for it Start of Season maintenance where we scrape your skis or snowboard and prepare them for the snow holiday of 2020-2021!
