Unless you’ve been living under a rock or just got back from a backcountry ski or snowboard trip, you’ve heard that ski slopes have been closed almost everywhere in an effort to stop the spread of the Coronavirus.
Where initially there was talk of a temporary closure of 1 to 2 weeks, we hear in various places that the winter season is now really over. For example, this season no more ski areas will be opened in France and Austria, and that according to the union of ski lift operators.
There is a chance that areas that typically remain open the longest into May - think Norway, Lapland & Glaciers in the Alps– reopen after all. But that is of course speculation, and then you can better look forward to the start of the ski season in e.g. New Zealand what is planned for June 6.
End of Season maintenance
At Wax & Board we will of course continue to work all year round for all snow enthusiasts! If skiing or snowboarding is unfortunately over for you, then you would do well to get your skis and snowboard a end of season maintenance to give.
This way your material will not dry out during the long, dry summer months that are now approaching.
With this maintenance we will put your steel edges back in order, and melt a soft wax; so that you are safe until the next snowflakes fall. You can then simply make an appointment for the Start of Season maintenance where we scrape your skis or snowboard and prepare it for the 2020-2021 snow holiday!
