With the edge eraser or grinding eraser from Wax'n Board the edges can be functionally blunted. This allows you to influence the properties of skis and snowboards.
A “Gummi Stone” belongs in your basic package of wax tools. On the one hand, you can remove the rust from the steel edges, on the other hand, you also make them a little less aggressive so that they bite less quickly at the front, which you will certainly have noticed in hard and aggressive snow.
The extreme sharpness is removed from the edge when the grinding gum is moved over the edge, which you do after filing your edges. It is important to know that the edge does not become blunt immediately and therefore still provides the grip that is needed when cutting into turns. By slightly blunting the ski edge or snowboard edge, your material becomes a little calmer.
Tip! You don't have to flatten the entire edge, just the front 20-30 cm is enough, because that's where you cut into the snow when making turns.
